Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Course Sequence Options

This course sequence trains practitioners extensively in Applied Behavior Analysis, with a focus on treating Autism.  The program is housed in the college of education. Our course sequence has received full approval by the Behavior Analytic Certification Board (BACB).  This BCBA certification course sequence can either be part of a master’s program or a post master’s set of courses plus a practicum that will meet the requirements for students to sit for the BCBA exam. There is an evening cohort and a daytime cohort for this program. The evening cohort holds class and practicum between the hours of 4:30pm-9pm and the daytime cohort holds class and practicum between 9am-4pm.

Two Options for BCBA Certificate:

  • Graduate Certificate

There is a graduate certificate option with 18 credits in Applied Behavior Analysis for people with a master’s degree in psychology, education or applied behavior analysis

  • M.Ed in Educational Psychology

master’s in education (M.Ed.) degree in educational psychology, which requires 18 credits in applied behavior analysis, plus an additional 12 credits and practicum.

EDP 7102 Assessment Techniques in Applied Behavior Analysis (4 credits)

EDP 7103 Applied Behavior Analysis Treatment Planning (4 credits)

EDP 7104 Research Methods in Applied Behavior Analysis (3 credits)

EDP 7105 Ethical Practice in Applied Behavior Analysis (3 credits)

EDP 7107 Field Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (2 credits)

EDP 7108 Field Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (2 credits)

EDP 7109 Field Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (2 credits)

Application Requirements?

  • Must meet or exceed the minimum 2.75 undergraduate GPA
  • Must submit a University Admissions application through the Graduate School
  • Must submit a program application indicating either applying for the M.Ed or Graduate Certificate program
  • Statement of purpose
  • Official Transcripts
  • 3 Letters of Recommendation

Application deadline is January 15, 2017 for the evening cohort and April 1, 2017 for the daytime cohort.
