Her prior experience includes working with individuals with traumatic brain injury and volunteering at overnight summer camps for kids diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Amber’s research interests reducing stereotyped behaviors that impede learning, including repetitive motor mannerisms and vocal stereotypy. Her favorite thing about working with children diagnosed with autism is identifying creative treatment plans to meet the needs of the child and their families, and watching how much each child grows as they gain skills from their first assessment until they transition out of the program. It’s amazing to see how much we can impact the child’s trajectory in life. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, exploring local places, reading and listening to music.
